Deepertruth: The Eucharistic Miracle of Santarem, A Bright Light

“I Jesus have sent my angel to you with this testimony for the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, the bright morning star.” Revelation 22:16

Jesus is the Light of the world, He is that Bright Light that draws the captives out of bondage and brings light through the darkness. John 14:6 Jesus said, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but by me.”

Jesus told Pontius Pilate, “You say that I am a king. For this I was born, and for this I have come into the world, to bear witness to the truth. Every one who is of the truth hears my voice.”

Ladies and Gentleman, Jesus voice is heard today through the Bark of Peter, the Church that is The Lord’s “pillar and bulwark of the truth.” (1 Timothy 3:15)

It is through His Catholic Church that Jesus maintains His Presence, His Power, and His Seal. The Eucharist is the sign of His Presence, body, blood, soul, and divinity. Tonight, we are recalling the Miracle of Jesus that took place inSantarem Portugal in 1247 A.D.

With some Eucharistic Miracles, the Host emits a bright light. In 1247, for instance, a woman in Santarem, Portugal, was concerned about her husband’s faithfulness. She went to a sorceress, who promised the woman that her husband would return to his loving ways if the wife would bring a consecrated host back to the sorceress. The woman agreed.

Notice that the enemies of the Church coming from a dark place, recognize Jesus in the Eucharist. When the mask is removed, we see even the demons tremble.
