The front-line numbers are pretty dramatic. The head-to-head poll that showed Trump down 50-40 going into the July 4th weekend, now has him up 47-46. A net improvement of 11 points or about a point a week. The job approval is even more dramatic. Yesterday's result had him at 52% approval and 46% disapproval. That is +6 or a net improvement of +22- about 2 points a week gained. There are some really eye-opening internals in these polls that tell the real story behind the top line numbers. Let start with the top line numbers themselves. Notice that the percentage of voters disapproving of Trump- 46% - is the same percentage supporting Biden. Even though the pool of those in-between/ not-sure voters is a significant 7%, Biden is not able to win them over.
As part of their coverage of the 19th anniversary of 9-11, Laura Ingraham in her show on Fox interviewed Bernie Kerik who was a New York Police Department Commissioner at the time that the Trade Center buildings were attacked and destroyed. Kerik said something that I had never heard before and it brought me to tears.
He stated that on 9-11 and for several days after, in the aftermath of that tragedy, Donald Trump was present at ground zero. He walked ground zero. He motivated those there. He was doing things for the mayor and himself to make their jobs easier. He said that Trump was there for DAYS.
This was years before Donald Trump was running for president. Before he had any idea that he would run for president. He was there simply to HELP.
I would have selected some other Republican to run against her. Only after he took office and started to actually keep all his promises, only after he demonstrated that he could and would make things better for all of us did I become a devoted Trump supporter.
