K.J. Kaschula is a children’s book author, illustrator, book designer, and Brave Kids Books Publishing Director. She grew up in Gauteng, South Africa where she found herself gravitating
toward the arts of storytelling—her first big exploration: the field of motion pictures! After her studies in this field, she felt a great pull towards traveling. She flew to Thailand to study teaching English as a foreign language but returned home shortly afterward to take care of her family. From Thailand to France, she then journeyed, where she au-paired and explored the city of Paris, where she rediscovered her passion for writing stories and art.
K.J., or Kelly as she is known, created The-Super-Dooper- Secret Collection, a series of children’s books following the secret adventures of Little Lizzie, who encounters the mystical, magical, and marvelous worlds never before seen by kid-kind until now! The collection was first published in 2021 with I Caught One of Santa’s Reindeer, followed by I Captured the
Easter Bunny’s Chicken, and I Discovered a Monster Under My Bed. K.J. is also the mastermind behind Brave Kids: Short Stories to Inspire Our Future World-Changers, Volumes 1 and 2.
During K.J.’s scribblings and drawings, she joined the Brave Healer Production health and wellness publishing team and helped birth its imprint, Brave Kids Books. When K.J. is not playing with stories, illustrating, or working in publishing, she’s most likely tasting delicious dishes or sipping coffee in a café in Paris, France, or in her little town in South Africa
