Dawn Schult, founder of The Dresses and Dreams Project , home of Operation Prom Girl. She has three children and one granddaughter, moved from Los Angeles County to the Inland Empire 7 years ago. She had a vision to help a few girls get to their prom as someone had helped her own daughter with prom by providing assistance when she found it hard to provide these things as a single mother. Before long, the vision to help just a couple of high school girls became the tune of  hundreds of gowns donated and over the course of 7 years, The Dresses and Dreams Project now has over 1500 gowns to provide girls in need.

The non-profit focuses on assisting teen girls with hardships or challenging circumstances, also helps women with their military balls by providing help through dress giveaways and an annual extravaganza.. Girls who attend this program get dresses, shoes, jewelry, workshops, inspirational speakers, resources,& much more., . The Dresses and Dreams Project targets prom as well as other needs that the teen may have. The  mission is more than a dress . It is to help a girl realize her true potential and provide assistance with reaching her dreams and by offering the resources and referrals she needs, with a focus on self-worth, healthy relationships, and healing.

To date, over 1000 have received gowns and much more from the organization. The program is free and the organization is 100% volunteer-run. You can find the Dresses and Dreams Project on Facebook and Instagram, or at www.thedressesanddreamproject.org
