BLACK HISTORY MONTH

TALKING ABOUT:  Was Black History Month was established under the pretext of honoring the contributions of African Americans to U.S. History. It began as Negro History Week in 1926 created by Carter G. Woodson. Is this month a celebration or a deterrent?

Guest: Ms. Nia Imani Webb has enjoyed a diversity of academic and extracurricular activities internationally and is evolving into a multilingual world/global citizen. She has studied history and culture in Ghana and South Korea; studied acting and drama at the British American Drama Academy, the University of Oxford in the UK; and conducted community volunteer work in Ecuador. All these experiences sharpened and enhanced her intercultural competence and worldview.
