Before a Christian can go into the depths of spiritual warfare, he or she should be trained. Indeed we fight in a war which is already won. It was won when Jesus burst from a sealed tomb! The battle is the Lord’s. Jesus said, “I saw Satan fall like lightening from Heaven,” (Lk. 10:16). However, our warfare with the powers of darkness is still very real. The apostles said in Ephesians 6, pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert! Keep on praying for all the saints.
Apostle Paul was a front line warrior. He was ever mindful of his need for the intercessors of the church to pray for him. He pleaded with them to, “Pray also for me, that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should,” (Eph. 16:19).
