Texas Watchdog.org reporter Ken Ward reports on the over inflated tax appraisals homeowners are paying. This year, 2016, the Bexar County (TX) Appraisal District raised residential real-estate values by 7.5 percent this year. In 2015, homeowners saw an 11 percent jump, and in 2014 they rose 7 percent. County tax officials say the aggregate 25.5 percent increase reflects the “healthy” San Antonio housing market, but the latest sales data from the National Association of Realtors shows the sales figures are overpriced and the figures used by the County Tax Appraisers are inaccurate and over inflated. Listen and learn.
