The city government of San Antonio plans to use $20 million of the proposed $850 million to build "affordable housing" for "working families". In the 1990's former HUD secretary and former SA mayor Henry Cisneros gave SA money to build affordable housing for first-time home owners on the west side in then city councilman and now HUD secretary Julian Castro's district. The project, Mirasol, was a disaster as the crony developer/builder built "cheap" poorly constructed housing and that was soon abandoned. Will this be a repeat? Listen and learn.
