Mike Helle, president of the San Antonio Police Officers’ Association (SAPOA), discusses the pitfalls with the new policy by Bexar County District Attorney Joe Gonzales regarding the announcement that the DA’s office will no longer charge homeless people with criminal trespassing if they don’t have a violent history and meet other criteria. Decriminalizing crime doesn't make communities safer and it will make policing more difficult.
