In 2011-2012 lyrics were being written for a song from the heart and soul. Perplexed by the surrounding conditions of the communities in which many young people lived in was troubling. I am a product of the Westside of Chicago, born and raised on 15th and Kolin which was not prime property, and was not a choice neighborhood, but it is what we had, and we learned to live in harmony, and peace with one another. If you grew up during the 60's, 70's, and 80's then you can really understand the vibe of these generations. The culture of the generation of the 60's 70's and 80's was one for all, and all for one. We were family not by blood, but by a bond much stronger. And that bond was the ghetto, and the almighty Westside. We were poor, but we were proud people, proud not because we were poor, but proud because we stood together, and the love that we had ran deep.
This episode represents a new single called "Reclaim The Generation" the lyrics reclaim the generation refers to a generation of young people who seem uncaring, lost, and deeply troubled due to drug addiction, and alcohol use. A generation that seem to have no interest in working for a successful future. As I pondered on this generation, and meditated on the problems of this society this song was born.
