Indie Artist Kanonia, and Artist J'Mymah Are On Air!

Hailing from Benguela, Angola, Kanonia has not only been around the block and back, living in several countries before finally settling down in Spain, but she has also found a way to document her experiences in her story-like style of songwriting. Having grown up in a family of depressed musicians and artists, music and art was always a constant part of her childhood. While her father, who is a multi-instrumentalist, always made sure there was music of all kinds of genres ringing through the house, he dissuaded What fans say: her from learning to play any instruments herself by emphasising she focus on her academics instead. Rebelling in her teens, she joined a youth choir and learnt that the best way to cope was to write, and through writing she discovered that she could not only add melodies to the words on paper but also hide her innermost feelings in plain sight with the right wordplay, much the same way her idols Ryan Tedder (OneRepublic) and Chris Martin (Coldplay) did. As soon as her stint on the choir ended, she begged her uncle to teach her how to play the guitar, composed her rst song at eighteen and never looked back.
