Free Speech Radio News - Holiday Special documentary

From the 22 Nov. program summary:

In Canada, violence against women disproportionately affects indigenous communities. Official statistics indicate around 600 indigenous women and girls have been murdered or have gone missing over the last three decades. Many of their families have been searching for their loved ones for years. They’ve also launched initiatives to help stop the violence.

Yet despite vigils, campaigns and repeated calls for action, many say the government’s response has been slow and inadequate. Programs that were created to address the problem have been cut and important resources reduced. Family members and loved ones describe a long struggle marked with pain and grief. But they continue to organize and demand justice. From Ottawa, FSRN’s Tanya Castle brings you some of their stories.

Libris Vox volunteer readings of classical poetry, essays and short stories.

On today's FSRN, we bring you a special half-hour program: Climate Change: rising tides, rising voices.
