The conference championship games yielded a slight surprise, with Utah going down against Oregon in the Pac 12, thus, Oklahoma secured the #4 CFP slot with its win over Baylor in the Big XII. LSU leapfrogged an Ohio State who had a tough first half against Wisconsin, while Clemson's ACC cakewalk kept them in the #3 slot. By show time we will have the NY6 pairings, as well as the full bowl lineup.

In political things, we continue to see the House Dems push toward impeachment of President Trump, and we have yet another shooting at a US military locale. Calls for gun control got ramped up, although the knowledge that it was a terror incident should temper that talk a bit.

In the world of PoliSports, former long-time Iowa Athletic Director, Bump Elliott, passed away Saturday, 12/7, at the age of 94. He truly lived the "PoliSports" role, being both an athletic administrator AND athletic emissary. In addition, many facilities ugrades happened during his tenure. In addition, he hired legendary Hawkeyes coaches Dan Gable and Hayden Fry.

And of course, the TG crowd is still at it, both in our schools and in the Twitter-verse.
