Seven Republican representatives led by Greg Steube (Florida) on April 30 sent a letter to Jordan's ambassodor to the United States, Dina Kawar, requesting that Jordan extradite under a 1995 treaty with the United States Ahlam Tamimi, a Hamas terrorist.  The Jordanian citizen Tamimi has been residing in Jordan since Israel in 2011 freed her and 1,026 other murderous terrorists in exchange for Gilad Shalit, an Israeli soldier taken captive by Hamas in 2006.  Tamimi had been serving 16 life sentences in Israeli prison for her masterminding of the August 9, 2001, Sbarro pizzeria suicide bombing in Jerusalem that killed 15 and left one American woman in a permanent vegetative state while also wounding 120 others.  The dead included two Americans, 15-year-old Malki Roth and Judith Greenbaum (31).  In conjunction with groups like the Endowment for Middle East Truth (EMET), Malki's parents have sought to bring Tamimi to trial in an American court.  Yet as a freed "resistance" fighter against Israel the liberated Tamimi has become a public celebrity in Jordan, including her own program on a Hamas television channel.  Although Westerners have often lauded Jordan under its Hashemite monarchy, currently headed by King Abdullah II, as an important regional ally, the political dangers to King Abdullah II of Tamimi's possible extradition underscore the weakness of the Hashemite regime.  Show host Andrew E. Harrod will discuss the realpolitik dilemmas surrounding the quest to bring Tamimi to justice in America.
