Robert Oscar Lopez grew up in a lesbian household after his mother divorced and lived with her lesbian partner.  Introduced to homosexuality by other, older youth at 13, he began to indentify as gay and entered into an abusive homosexual lifestyle.  He graduated from Yale University in 1993 and then obtained a classics masters degree and PhD, respectively, from the University of Buffalo and New York State University--Buffalo.

Lopez continued in his homosexual lifestyle until he fortuitously fell in love with a woman in his late 20s, married, and had two children.  At the beginning of his romance, he also became a Christian in the Southern Baptist Convention.

As an activist who has confronted LGBT agendas on the basis of his bitter personal experience, Lopez has experienced severe backlash in his professional life, not just as a professor at California State University--Northridge near Los Angeles, but also later at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas.  This supposedly conservative institution dismissed Lopez just after Thanksgiving 2019 for his speaking out on LGBT agendas.

Lopez's shunning in Southern Baptist circles and beyond for his principled stances on human sexaulity and family provides key insight into why conservatives are losing critical political struggles on these issues.  He will join show host Andrew E. Harrod to discuss his life and what it says about modern society.
