The recent Hamas rocket offense launched from the Gaza Strip against Israel and Israel's military response have unleashed a wave of often violent protests and hate crimes against Isreal and Jews worldwide. Perhaps even more disturbing, significant elements of the Democratic Party in the United States have given tepid responses to these outrages of antisemitism and jihadist assualts against Israel, even casting Israel as the aggressor against the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip. Calls from within the Democratic Party to restrict military aid to Israel needed for its self-defense have cast grave doubts upon what was once an American bipartisan commitment to a strategic alliance with Israel. Many now speak of leftist Democratic representatives like Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib as the "Jihad Squad" or "Hamas Caucus" in a party that historically has been the political home of most American Jews. Leading conservative political commentator Rabbi Aryeh Spero, president of Caucus for America, will join show host Andrew E. Harrod to discuss these troubling developments. Among other matters, Spero will analyze whether Jews will become more conservative politically and whether they will develop a growing awareness of often threatening Islamic political doctrines.
