We'll touch on the day's news, then we have our inaugural show for our quarterly feature on local and independent businesses that drive the American economy. Today we'll be talking to a company in Orlando, FL that features tours around the area's waterways. These aren't your garden-variety boats or airboats to see alligators. No, these are self-powered, and gators, manatees, and other wildlife and plant life can be seen up close, from the comfort of a stand-up paddleboard! Jenny and Rich will tell us how they got started, why they enjoy it, what they face in terms of competition, regulation, and other obstacles. Following that, we'll talk to Charlie, a builder in Montana, who has built houses large and small, modest and palatial, and as a builder, faces some unique but interesting circumstances. He'll tell us about the influx of folks into Montana from less COVID-"friendly" states, as well as what that demand has done to prices for materials. If time permits, we'll also hear from friend and listener TBodee, who has seen what the COVID shutdowns did to venues and performers in the music and entertainment industries. Listen online, or call in at (319)-527-6706. Listen, or even ask a question if the notion strikes!
