Last May, the Supreme Court agreed to review a Mississippi law that prohibits abortions after 15 weeks of fetal gestation, except in medical emergencies and severe fetal abnormalities. The case, Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, could potentially lead to an overturning of the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision and its companion, Doe v. Bolton, which together legalized abortion throughout the entirety of pregnancy. To discuss these matters, Clarke Forsythe, senior counsel for Americans United for Life and author of Abuse of Discretion: The Inside Story of Roe v. Wade, will join show host Andrew E. Harrod. Among other matters, Forsythe will discuss the case's possible outcomes and the individual approaches of the Supreme Court's justices to abortion jurisprudence.
