Despite Dopey Joe's claims he would--like he did CornPop--personally conquer this, we're going backward. At least, if you listen and believe mainstream media, we are. But are we? Why are numbers not adding up? And why, in a time when the vaccinated are contracting it almost as much as the unvaccinated, is there a push for people TO get vaccinated? And why the grasp for control of the mask mandate narrative? I have, I THINK a few ideas.

In Sports, the Olympics are over. The US Men's Track & Field team won exactly two gold medals, one in the field, one on the track. But, the US finally took over the gold medal lead, and had already pretty much sewn up the overall medal lead in the second week. In the end, though, do we care anymore? Amateurism is a relic, and "representing country" seems a burden to many of the athletes. So, in light of that, why should WE, as "fans", care?

In PoliSports, the conference realignment scuffles seem to be done, but who knows what will happen as Grant Of Rights deals are renogotiated, NIL comes into bloom, and population shifts are occurring that could have a large impact on both of those. But, for good news, NCAA football teams are in camp, and we are less than a month away from the season!

And finally, we'll pay tribute to two legends that have left us this week in FSU legend Bobby Bowden and Chicago Blackhawks goalie Tony :Tony-O" Esposito.
