Democrats in both the House of Representatives and in the Senate have passed National Defense Authorization Acts with amendments that would take the revolutionary step of registering women for Selective Service. Yet there is no reason for women, who form only a small part of the peacetime American military, to register for a draft whose purpose is to replenish quickly the military in any largescale conflict. To discuss the disadvantages of registering women for a military draft, Heritage Foundation Kathryn and Shelby Cullom Davis Institute for National Security and Foreign Policy Vice President James Jay Carafano will join show host Andrew E. Harrod. This graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point and 25-year army veteran will examine why Democrats want to draft America's daughters, among other matters.
