Some interesting races and results of the elections in Virginia and New Jersey yesterday. While the New Jersey governor's race "goes to the absentee ballots", which almost certainly keep Dem Phil Murphy in office, in Virginia, former Gov. Terry McAuliffe has actually conceded the race to upstart GOP Glenn Youngkin. Further shattering the various tropes and narratives of Big Left, Virginia's Lt. Governor race was won by GOP-er Winsome Sears, becoming the first Black woman to win the office, while the Attorney General race was won by GOP-er Jason Miyares, the first Cuban American to win the office. Hmmm. In sports, the Atlanta Braves have won The Commissioner's Trophy, beating the Houston Astros for the World Series title. I'll discuss the irnoy during the show. In college football, the first CFP rankings are out, and no, they didn't get it right "this time". In addition, TCU Coach Gary Patterson was fired, and while it was offered to him to finish out the season, Patterson declined. So, yeah, more mid-season firings, and at least one coach isn't on board with the idea. To top THAT, Georgia Southern, after firing Chad Lunsford in September, Georgia Southern has hired Clay Helton--who, himself, was fired by USC that same month. We'll cover all this, plus our College Football Forum & Follies with The Aging Crew! 5:30pm ET, Wed. 11/3/2021. Listen here/online, or call in to listen or even talk at (319)-527-6706
