The Pact of Umar.  The Cross and the Crescent Discussion Group.

In 638A.D. the second caliph, Umar, conquered Jerusalem and imposed on the residents a set of restrictions on their status in society, the practice of their religion, where they could live – die, and even how they should dress.  This “Treaty”, as the Pact of Umar is referred too, has been put into practice in one shape or form for the past 1400 years and is still applied today.

Today we are going to address what is in this “treaty” and how it makes every non-Muslim a second class citizen.
