Another week down, what have we learned?
First, we may just be seeing that inter-regional games--even within a conference--are not exactly the "ideal" situation. Even with a Hawkeye win over Washington, it's hard to argue that Washington has had it "easy" with trips to Rutgers, followed by a trip to Iowa City just two weeks later. Then again, even within conferences, home teams seem to be getting the better of things. So, are we moving closer/toward a "regionalized" format, even with conference alignments? Meanwhile, the Iowa Hawkeyes grab a pretty big win over Washington, a really nice win, actually. On the other side, some teams, even home teams, have been darn lucky to escape with wins, such as Bama, while a couple "home" teams have not fared as well. Avid Mike and I will be covering all this, along with some thoughts on not just a good Hawkeye win, but some historical stats, as well. And, naturally, we will have a LOT of thoughts on the Hawkeyes "directly", including some past stats, some adjustments the Hawkeye staff makes during games, and what we might be seeing from here through the rest of the season.
