Sex, rape, sodomy and incest are taboo topics in most African communities. Sexual assault is discussed in whispers behind closed doors, as the problem festers. Cases of child defilement during this CORVID pandemic have sky rocketed. Often, children and adolescents are home, together with the perpetrators. A parent may not immediately recognize that their child has been sexually assaulted. The psychological effects linger on for years.
