Minister, Teacher Speaker, Writer and Author, Barbara Symons, returns to Re-Awakening Minds for a record 4th visit. Tonight, she and host Dr. Nailah Bakari Gilliam will discuss the question of whether "Spirituality is Overtaking Mainstream Religion." They will also delve into Barbara's groundbreaking book, "Escaping Christianity, Finding Christ."

Barbara Symons is an ordained minister and tireless spiritual seeker whose experience in Christian fundamentalism spans her lifetime beginning at five years of age. After leaving the religious system in 1999, Barbara recognized the fear-based propaganda most of fundamentalism employs. Having spent 43 years in the religious system, Barbara has keen insight and writes of her personal journey through deprogramming. Always captivated by unusual phenomena, Barbara has a vast repertoire of spiritual and metaphysical experiences from which she draws. She is a lecturer, teacher and writer that brings light to the mysteries found within the historical stories of the Bible and beyond.
