National Geographic’s “Go to Hell”: Erika Engelhaupt
in Travel
Do you love a lively, entertaining read that is hellishly clever while it educates you as to the world’s most interesting travel destinations? Are you intrigued by folklore, myths, history and fascinating places? Do you appreciate a good laugh? If so, this show is for you!
Our guest, Erika Engelhaupt, is a science journalist whose expertise lies in all things macabre. Her work in National Geographic, Scientific American, and elsewhere has revealed the spooky science behind many taboo topics, including rotting corpses, bodily fluids, and other things that, in her words, “make her popular at dinner parties.” And, to underscore this point, her previous book is entitled Gory Details: Adventures from the Dark Side of Science.
We are thrilled to have Erika join us to share all about her brand-new voyage to the dark side. It’s called Go to Hell: A Traveler’s Guide to Earth’s Most Otherworldly Destinations.
This book is both a real romp and a treasure trove of travel information, so you’ll want to make sure you catch this show!

Embracing Growth: The power of a Growth Mindset vs. a Fixed Mindset
in Podcasting
When was the last time you paid attention to your inner dialogue? What does your inner voice tell you? Does it say, "I can't do it" or "I don't have the talent to succeed"? Does it make you worry about what others will think? Alternatively, does your inner voice say, "Maybe I don't have the talent, but I can learn" or "I can get it done"? The key difference between these two inner voices is that the first one comes from a fixed mindset, which limits your perspective and makes you believe that something is not possible; while the second one comes from a growth mindset, which encourages you to believe that anything is possible and motivates you to learn and grow.
Which mindset would you prefer to have? The one that keeps you from moving forward or the one that propels you to move forward?
The choice is yours. By learning to listen to your inner voice and questioning its limiting beliefs, you can shift from a fixed mindset to a growth mindset and open-up limitless possibilities.
In this episode, I will share a few techniques to help you make this shift and cultivate a growth mindset. Remember, changing one thing can change everything - so embrace flexibility and be willing to learn and grow in new ways. You have the power to choose a mindset that supports your success and fulfillment. #Reawilke

About Hobbies
Riddle us this: What's the most geektastic thing you choose to do in your spare time? Are you a big-time gamer? A gardener? A Comic Con fiend whose loyalty falls on one side of the DC-Marvel spectrum? The way we spend our time outside work is as varied as our personalities, and let's face it, we're all nerds about something. Maybe your browser history shows you're bidding on a Star Wars action figure or a lamppost for your Lionel train layout. Perhaps your preference for the paranormal means you download every episode of America's Most Haunted. No matter your guilty pleasure, BlogTalkRadio allows hobbyists to geek out together on whatever it is they gravitate – or levitate – toward. Talk shop with bloggers, critics, even blog critics, on what matters to you, or steer the conversation by hosting your own niche show. Oh, and it probably goes without saying, Trekkies welcome here.
