This week we continue with our dialogue on lynchings and hate crimes. We think of lynching as hanging only, but any targeted killing of our people, namely so called blacks, hispanics, native americans etc is a modern day lynching. We will discuss how the El Paso Massacre and other hate crimes are modern day lynchings.

Lynching is the practice of murder by a group of people by extrajudicial action. Lynchings in the United States rose in number after the American Civil War in the late 19th century, following the emancipation of slaves; they declined in the 1920s.
