The Unearned Gift

God saved us , not because of righteous things we had done, but  because  of his mercy . He saved us through  the washing of rebirth and renewal by the holy Spirit.Most of us recall the excitement we felt as children when our birthdays came around . Some of us would even start  counting down the days as much as a month in advance. we wamted. to get our hands on the gifts we knew would be waiting for us on our special day unearned giftts , simply celebrations of the fact of our births.When  the day finally arrives , we are  surrounded by friends and family , all eager to join in our happiness.
