Why is there a stigma around mental health? Mental health is Human health. Every human being experiences the developmental stages of life. Every human being experiences changes in life. Everyone has a unique and valuable story to tell. No two humans are alike in how they think, feel, behave, and experience their world. No matter who you are and what you might be going through, you are not alone. You are worthy, valuable, and telling your story is empowering and can be transforming. Every human has a right to ask for help and is ultimately responsible for making changes in their lives. I encourage my listeners who might be struggling to reach our for help by texting connect to 741741. My special guest, Dominique Shorter-Taylor, is co-founder of the practice Beyond ABA. She works with children diagnosed with autism, emotional and other behavior disorders, along with their parents. She shares her insights and the work she does in homes and in schools to better the lives of others. She can be found online at Beyond-ABA.com and has a blog on youtube called domthebcbamom. Please check her out. She is doing great work.
