The "Last Plantation" is alive and well at the USDA. The battle between USDA and Black farmers goes on. More land is being taken from Balck Farmers even as the new administration takes over.
Corey Lea is from Tennessee. He is an active black farmer and in civil rights for many years. He has been responsible for filing several petitions in the Court of Federal Claims on behalf of Black Farmers in order to hold USDA accountable for its discriminatory practices which have gone on for decades. He is representative of the plight of Black farmers in the Southern Region comprising 13 states, and others who have been discriminated against repeatedly by the USDA and its internal agencies and departments.
