Whistleblowers! VAMC in Beckley, West Virginia w/Tammy & Mickey Mitchell

We’ve had whistleblowers from the Memphis VA, Phoenix VA, and others, so everyone who’s been listening to TS Radio at all knows the veteran’s administration is a complete mess. So, it will be hard to imagine that the Beckley VAMC in Beckley, West Virginia is the worst, but that’s what several whistleblowers have said and we’ll have one of those and her husband on the broadcast tonight.

Tammy Mitchell has been a registered nurse for more than two decades, she was the head of the Home Based Care for the Beckley VAMC in 2009; there, she witnessed secret waitlist, wrongful patient deaths, cover-ups, and reprisals.

She has several complaints filed, including with the Merit Systems Protection Board and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and we’ll get more into those in the broadcast.

Her husband Mickey is a Vietnam veteran who has been receiving treatment at the same hospital for more than two decades and he recently found out that bad test results were not shared with him for years and he may have developed an aggressive form of cancer as a result.

He’s filed a tort claim and we’ll get more into that as well.
