The Savior Prayed,”Not As I Will, But As You Will.”

So many times we pray selfishly, asking, Father God, for everything from homes to cars and money like Trump.  Even The Savior prayed like we do, to, “let this cup pass from Me.”  But we should pray, as The Savior did, “not as I will, but as You Will.”  I pray on this  “Good Friday” that you never forget Jesus didn’t have to die but He did; nevertheless, for us.  Pray, Pray, and Pray some more for our world.  May God bless you today and forever more. He went a little farther and fell on His face, and prayed, saying, “O My Father, if it is possible,  let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless,  not as I will, but as You will.” Then He came to the disciples and found them sleeping, and said to Peter, “What! Could you not watch with Me one hour? Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation.  The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” Again, a second time, He went away and prayed, saying, “O My Father,  if this cup cannot pass away from Me unless I drink it, Your will be done.”Matthew 26:39-42 - NKJV

Now from the sixth hour until the ninth hour there was darkness over all the land. And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, “Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?” that is,  “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?” Some of those who stood there, when they heard that, said, “This Man is calling for Elijah!” Immediately one of them ran and took a sponge, filled it with sour wine and put it on a reed, and offered it to Him to drink. The rest said, “Let Him alone; let us see if Elijah will come to save Him.” And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice, and yielded up His spirit. Matthew 27:45-50 - NKJV
