When I turned 30, I had just finished my first year of law school and was heading into my 2nd year. Over a year before, I was a Naval Officer stationed with the Marines and a year later, I was a college student.
We often focus on age 18 or 21 as the great milestones in our lives but it's age 30 when we start making significant life challenges.
From age 30 to 34, I had attended and graduated from law school, got my first legal job, married my girlfriend and proceeded to make a litany of life decisions while transitioning into 'grown folks territory'.
Here is the first part of my 5 part series '30s, 40s, 50s and Beyond' as I talk about what I learned through age 30 to 34.
