There are likely none of our followers who have not experienced a shift in communication style in our society. Knowledge, intellect, and vetted facts seem to be valued by very few people. A juggernaut of trash talk is paraded around under the guise of one's "right to one's own opinion," with no regard to thinking those opinons through, or fact-checking them. It's daunting, and disheartening. How can this trend be turned around?

Most of you will probably agree that we have entered an era where our society does not value critical thinking skills, even though pushing them away has created the assumptions, and therefore the animosity and venom that is so pervasive in our social media, especially in politics and news in this country. People’s inability or unwillingness to simply state only the facts, and provide the means for others to verify them truthfully and independently, Is the root cause of so much of our ugliness to each other.

So tonight, we’d like to talk about Critical Thinking from a psychological point of view, in hopes that our listeners will walk away from tonight’s show understanding what it is, why it is so crucial for everyone, and how they can develop or regain these skills for themselves.
