Tonight’s show is called, “Wish You Were Here (Grief, Loss, Mourning, and Closure).

We have done previous episodes about suicide and dying, but we have only talked a limited about those left behind coping with grief and loss, so tonight we are going to have an episode about this topic.

There are many ways in which we can feel a sense of loss and be saddened by it. There are different ways that people cope with such events. Some people are transparent and demonstrative; some people feel the need to withhold any sign of grief. Some people want to talk it out; some people reject the need for closure. Sometimes, one party wants these things and the other does not, and so on top of the grief, there can be more arguing.

Tonight, we will discuss:

  • Grief
  • Loss
  • Mourning
  • Closure

We'll start off the evening with some topic-relevant Classic Rock played by Dr. Mathis, followed by Classic Rock trivia, in "The Rock & Roll Shrink Recalls," followed by our topic discussion. We'll be taking calls from our listeners throughout the evening.
