It starts up front in the trenches and YSU has the men up front as we saw last season to be very dominant. Bringing back one of the biggest offensive lines in football the Penguins are poised for another solid season on offense. Last year in the Missouri Valley Football Conference YSU finished first in nearly every offensive category – number one in total offense, rushing offense and scoring offense.
One key piece to the unit is second-team All-Missouri Valley Football Conference selection Mark Pratt who started 11 games at center in his first year with the program. Pratt who sports a Brett Kiesel type beard earned the highest overall grade of 83% of all YSU linemen and was awarded the Jim Zdelar Offensive Lineman of the Year award. Durable and strong at the point of attack Pratt was also named Offensive Lineman of the Game four times last season and also recognized as the MVFC’s Offensive Lineman of the Week.
Pratt took time following practice to talk with College2Pro.com on the up coming season and his thoughts moving forward knowing their may be and opportunity at the next level.
