Xavier Boyce spent three years at Virginia Tech (2008-10) appearing in 25 games with the Hokies. The Virginia Beach, VA native transferred to Norfolk State in 2011 and immediately became key piece to 9-3 team that finished with the best record in the MEAC at 7-1. His combination of size and speed enabled him to lead the Spartans with 750 receiving yards on 68 catches for four touchdowns and returns in 2012 as a preseason All-MEAC First Team selection. The Spartans led the MEAC in passing yards and passing efficiency last season after finishing third overall in those categories in 2010, one year prior to Boyce’s arrival.
