K E I T H P O U G H LB HOWARD BISON
Keith Pough was named to the 2012 Sports Network FCS Pre-season All-American Team and placed on the Butkus Award Watch entering his red-shirt senior season at Howard. Not to shabby considering Pough played receiver all the way up until his junior season in high school prior to growing into his 6’3 and 235-pound frame. The Orangeburg, S.C. native now seems like a natural fit at linebacker where he led the Bison in tackles with 120 and recording 21 tackles-for-loss in 2011.
Pough is poised to set several all-time school records and possibly leaving Howard as one of the most decorated linebackers to leave the school. Playing in the MEAC Pough won’t jump off the pages of who’s who in college football but the people in the know (NFL scouts) are well a breasted on this stand out linebacker.
Pough’s demeanor and preparation to the game and his teammates resembles the likes of some of the NFL’s top team leaders like Denver Broncos Peyton Manning or Baltimore Ravens Ray Lewis. The son of a high school football coach Pough is as intelligent as they come partly due to his devoted film study and attention to detail.
