Akeem Shavers started his college career at Tyler Junior College in Texas. Shavers rushed for 450 yards on just 50 carries with three touchdowns in 2010 and averaged 9.0 yards per carry. In limited action, he earned 2010 second team All-Southwest Junior College Football Conference. A mid-year signee in 2011, Shavers enrolled at Purdue in January appearing in 12 games, making two starts ... second for Purdue with 519 yards rushing and six touchdowns on 111 carries - caught five passes for 58 yards and a touchdown. In his final season at Purdue Shavers led the team in rushing yards with 871 and total touchdowns with nine.
