Bemidji State running back Avery Walker finished third in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference with 1,314 rushing yards. Walker was the bright and a key component for Bemidji State who finished 13th out of 16 teams in the conference. The senior average 23.9 carries per game, in 2013, and he had five games with 28 or more. During one stretch of the season Walker carried the football 104 times in three games, including a career high 46 against Minnesota Crookston. Walker is now in the process of getting himself noticed and prove he can play professional football. Prior to Bemidji State Walker played, in 10 games while at Mesabi Range Community College in the 2010 season, leading the team in rushing with a total of 859 yards on 159 carries. He accumalated 10 touchdowns during the 2010 season and was rated the ninth overall running back prospect by yahoo sports in 2011. He was awarded first team all-region and First Team All-MCAC during his career at Mesabi.
