Oklahoma Sooners Corey Nelson was having a career season before it was cut short after suffering a torn pectoral muscle against TCU on Oct. 5. Nelson, a defensive captain who finished with 27 tackles, had returned an interception for a touchdown against Notre Dame the week before. Nelson a team captain applied first to the Big 12 Conference for a medical redshirt but was denied. True freshman played in all 14 games as a member of special teams and backup linebacker and continued to raise his game each season. Upon leaving Skyline High School, Nelson was a Five-star recruit by Scout.com and 5A Player of the Year. Definitely one of the most athletic players at his position entering the 2014 NFL Draft.
