Cyprian, born in Carthage (c.200, d.258). He became a Bishop of Carthage, wrote many Latin works, many of which are still available. He said, "No one is strong in his own strength, but he is safe by the grace and mercy of God." This fits most Christians in whatever of spiritual growth one finds him/herself andd, especially so for those moving from SOLITUDE to SILENCE. This becomes the second of three major phases of spiritual growth in which one can and probably will have major breakthrough experiences, while increasing his sense of spiritual knowledge and wisdom.
Make no mistake ... spiritual growth is what keeps us fresh and growing in virtualy all of the spiritual virtues and gifts given to us by the indwelling Holy Spirit ... all of which are instrumental in adding value to the lives of many that we meet along the way.
In our spiritual journey, we gladfully use directions from the Holy Scriptures, biblical examples of others, and insight from the indwelling Holy Spirit. And, much of this comes from experiencing true, Holy, Spiritual SILENCE.
