Hi there!

This is a part of a letter that I wrote to Oprah...

I tuned into Life Class After reading so many tweets about it online. I was late for class because I was reading a bedtime story to my weary- eyed son (just turned 5 yesterday). I live with Multiple Sclerosis (MS), but I don't let it define me. I'm a mother, wife, news junkie and Jazz lover. Somehow MS keeps creeping into my life every chance it gets. It's like an annoying phone call (either home phone or cell) that you get at the most inopportune time, or your "Aunt Flo" visiting you when you are hiking or camping.

I was attending Life Class, and I was agreeing with everything that was said. I realized that I had done most of my forgiving. I forgave my father for allowing me and my sisters to witness his verbal and emotional abuse of my mother for so many years. He was MIA for 15 years after my parents’ divorce while he started his new family less than 20 miles from us in Baltimore. I am grateful that my mother put me and my sisters through college, supporting us alone, and not thinking only of herself. Forgiveness has done wonders for my physical state of being. I held onto so much anger, but mostly hurt, for so many years that my body finally said "STOP! Enough is enough. I'm shutting you down!" This is how the Multiple Sclerosis reared it’s ugly head and introduced itself as my annoying friend. I was listening to Oprah on XM the other day and she was talking to a mistress and how she had to let go of those friends with negative energy. Well MS is my friend with the negative energy and I'm trying to let it go with prayer, yoga and nutrients.
