God's Plan For Blended Families

The Family of God is a blended family; John 3:16 states that God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son and that whosoever believes in him will not perish but will have eternal life. This verse does not say only intact nuclear families would be saved and this verse does not say children who are adopted or grow up in non traditional homes will not be saved. We learn from scripture that God is not a respector of persons and that our salvation is not based on where we came from. As a matter of fact we learn that once we accept Jesus our brothers and sisters become any person who is part of the body of Christ. We understand that most of us today are involved in blended families in some way even if our parents remained married and never experienced divorce. Our best friend may have been part of such an experience and are continues to suffer from that situation. God planted special people who know and understand that love is not something you can put in a box for it is indeed a gift from God. Knowing this they accept opportunities when God sends them our way in forms of husbands or wives who may have children from previous marriages. We look forward to sharing how God moves in all situations and can turn what may appear to be adverse realities into opportunities for parents and children alike to grow and develop as Ambassadors for Christ.
