You are not righteousness because of how morally upright you are. But you are the very righteousness of God in Christ solely because the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross made you so. We are no longer under the law that was given to Moses by God on Mt. sanai. Jesus Christ fulfilled that law for us when he died on the cross and then resurrected from the dead by God. When you believe this, your faith is accounted for righteousness.
