The Book of Revelation was propbably written between 98-100 A.D., during the reign of the Roman Emperor Domitian. During his reign, Domitian had demanded that people, including Christians, must worship him as lord and god. So, the second wave of great persecution against the Christian was launched. They were once again subjected to ridicule and imprisonment, exile and death. The Apostle John was one of those who were sent to exile to the Island of Patmos.
