Join the Capital Region Creative Corps in their exciting new launch of the "Tactical Urbanism Art in Placemaking" program! This initiative aims to engage the community through impactful media outreach and campaigns, focusing on social justice and community engagement. The Sojourner Truth African Heritage Museum will be hosting this innovative program that has two main objectives: firstly, to develop a robust economic and workforce development program, and secondly, to demonstrate the vital role that artists from various disciplines can play in addressing our most pressing community issues. Be a part of this unique opportunity to help shape our communities and make a real difference!

J. Andrea Amezcua Porras has offered intersectional multimedia art through solos and collaborations between education, story-sharing, and storytelling ceremonies. Porras curates visual exhibitions and creates site-specific installations and ritual performances. As an artist and site project coordinator, they assist, facilitate, mentoring organizing, and perform. They have taken the opportunity to expand their appreciation and interest in urban planning and serving/ working with the Native American Tribal leadership and communities through an opportunity for career expansion.

They join the CRCC SOJO Team as an independent community/ art curator at the intersection of cultural, spiritual, civic & social engagement.

During the 2024 Black History Heritage Festival, they will be part of the Environmental Justice Panel discussion as a Cross-Sector Partner CoFounder: Movimiento Molcajete, Onethia Yemonja Riley is an educator and poet, SafeBlackSpace.org, and Marianna Sousa is a social wellness leader at Mariworks Productions.
