The Fatherhood of God -- The Parker J Cole Show

2 Corinthians 6:18: "And I will be a father to you, and you shall be sons and daughters to me, says the Lord Almighty."

2 Samuel 7:14-15: "I will be a father to him, and he'll be a son to me. When he does wrong, I'll discipline him in the usual ways, the pitfalls and obstacles of this mortal life. But I'll never remove my gracious love from him."

Luke 15:20: "But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him."

Deuteronomy 1:31: "There you saw how the Lord your God carried you, as a father carries his son, all the way you went until you reached this place."

The Bible has many verses that talks about the duties, responsibilities, and acts of a father. As we celebrate Father's day, we want to take an in-depth look at the fatherhood of God. When our earthly fathers succeed in their duty, we praise God they follow the example He set. When they fail in that aspect, we praise God that He becomes the father we need.
