Jimmy Jazz has written several books. Pirate Enclave Books is releasing his complete works. M-Theory (PE 2020) is a short story collection. His novels include The Sub (incommunicado 1996), House of the Unwed Mother, The Cadillac Tramps, Rube Goldberg Suicide Machine & Where Life is Inappropriate. His “magnum opus” The Book of Books chronicles 1000+ books he read. PE is proud to present Nothing a Fire Can’t Fix (2022), a poetry collection spanning 30 years. It includes poems from chapbooks, journals, spoken word performance pieces and new poems.

As a spoken word artist he has had the privilege of reading from his work at City Lights in San Francisco, Skylight in Los Angeles, Quimby’s in Chicago (with Shappy RIP), at the Fringe Festival in New York, at SXSW in Austin, at The National Poetry Slam in Minneapolis, at a punk squat in Phoenix, in a bar in Springfield, MO… as well as San Diego, CA where he has hosted many of his favorite writers: Steve Abee, Liz Belile, Peter Plate, Barry Graham, Stewart Home, Ellyn Maybe, Michael Klam, Tamara Johnson, Jervey Tervalon, Derrick Brown, Bucky Sinister, Beth Lisick, Jeffrey McDaniel, Pleasant Gehman, Iris Berry, June Melby, Angela Elizabeth Boyce, minerva, Lydia Lunch, Hal Sirowitz, Daphne Gotlieb, Alexis O’Hara, Douglas A. Martin, The Watts Prophets, Rich Ferguson, the Taco Shop Poets, Dave Alvin, Clebo Rainey, Kimberly Dark. He traveled as a “slum poet” with Lollapalooza 94 where he shared a stage with Michelle Serros, The Last Poets, Richard Loranger, Maggie Estep… He’s taken up the mic with bands, broken TVs on stage, read poems naked…made friends, made enemies, and generally fucked shit up for 30 years now.
