Why Is My Child Angry And Defiant?

Children today are not what they use to be. Today many parents are struggling with trying to figure out why their child is angry, not listening, lying, disrespecting authority, their parents and others? This is leaving parents feeling helpless, hopeless and desperate. One might say let's go back to the good old days. Others might say a whooping did not kill me. And I recall telling my daughter just redirect the behavior. 

Anger is a valid emotion. Yet when it is coming from a child many become confused especially when there is Child Protective Services on one end and children killing their parents and others on the other end. So where do we draw the line. How can we determine if an emotional outburst or defiant, aggressive behavior is beyond the normal temper tantrum?
